Don't follow your GPS into town

Navigation apps don't always know the zone. Head straight to a Desvío car park.

Green zone = residents only

Bays marked green (Z.A.R.) are reserved for residents. €90 fine.

No parking on road shoulders

On the main road you may only park by the petrol station. The tow truck works daily.

The smart alternative

Come to Sóller without a car

In summer, the fastest and cheapest way to enjoy the valley is to leave the car in Palma… or not bring it at all.

Sóller Train

The historic wooden train leaves Plaça Espanya (Palma) and reaches central Sóller in one hour, crossing tunnels and mountains. An attraction in itself.

Palma → Sóller · ~1 h

Tram to the Port

From Sóller station, the century-old tram rolls down to Port de Sóller in about 20 minutes through the orange groves. Open carriages in summer.

Sóller → Port · ~20 min

Bus 204 (TIB)

Line 204 connects Palma with Sóller and the Port regularly and cheaply. Check timetables at tib.org.

Palma ↔ Sóller ↔ Port

Everything within walking distance

From the Desvío car parks you reach Plaça de la Constitució in a 10-minute walk. Sóller is best enjoyed slowly, without a steering wheel.

Tips from a resident

What a local would tell you

01

Arrive before 10:00

In summer car parks fill up by mid-morning. Before 10 there's always space, even in August.

02

Bypass first, centre later

Don't ‘try your luck’ in the centre: go straight to a park-and-ride and walk down. You'll save time and fines.

03

Watch out for the tram

The tram crosses streets in the centre and the Port. Never park on or near the tracks: the tow truck is quick.

04

Sundays are metered too

Under the latest regulations the blue zone is also paid on Saturday afternoons and Sundays, 9:00–20:00.

05

Beach day? Head for the Port

If the Port is your plan, park there directly (Lepanto or the promenade blue zone) instead of leaving the car in town.

06

Hiking in Biniaraix

For the Barranc de Biniaraix use the village's designated car parks and respect residents' zones.
